Thunberg's bold actions first began in the month of August. She boycotted school and made a sign that read 'School Strike For Climate and calmly was seated outside of the Swedish parliament. It was important to her to draw the attention of the politicians and convince them to take steps to curb the effects of global warming. Swedish media coverage of Thunbergs decision and her actions became widely known. In the weeks that followed many students across the globe joined Thunberg's #FridaysforFuture movements. Students opted to skip Friday school in protest against global warming. Climate activists from across the globe coordinated the inaugural Global Strike for Climate in the year 2019. The event was an enormous achievement. 1.6 Million people in the 125 nations took part.
